Our apps run on your device. They have no accounts, no ads and no analytics, and we do not sell data.

Tesla Backseat Control

In short

The app collects no personal data and sends nothing off your phone. It has no internet permission, no servers, no accounts, no ads and no analytics.

What the app does

Tesla Backseat Control lets passengers in the back seat control selected car functions in a Tesla: seat heating, ventilation, climate and music. The app talks to the car only over Bluetooth Low Energy (BLE), directly between the phone and the car.

Data stored on your device

The following is stored only locally on your phone and never leaves the device:

• the vehicle identification number (VIN), which you either scan with the camera or type in
• an optional nickname for the car
• the PIN, which is stored locally on the device

We have no access to this information.

Camera

The camera is used only to scan the VIN. The text is read on the device using Google's ML Kit text recognition. Images are not stored.

Bluetooth and nearby devices

The Bluetooth / nearby devices permission is used to find and connect to your car.

No sharing and no servers

The app does not have permission to use the internet. We run no servers for the app, and no data is sent to us or to any third party. The app uses no ads, no analytics and no user accounts.

Deleting your data

You can delete all data the app has stored by clearing the app's data in Android settings or by uninstalling the app.

This website

The website olivedev.no uses no cookies and no analytics. If you use the contact form, the name, email address and message you enter are sent by email to the site owner and are used only to reply to you. Nothing is stored on the server beyond normal hosting and security logs kept by Cloudflare.
